MD for a weekend
Last weekend I was very blessed to have the chance to join a seminar workshop on diabetes mellitus. En route to the venue, I was thinking it would be one of those boring seminars. And to add to that I was fretting over the thought of having to catch up on my patients later that day, since unfortunately my post that day was at the ER.
Anyway, upon approaching the registration table, we found 2 lines. The first line was for doctors and the other one was for allied health professionals (nurses, midwives, dieticians and the like). So we went to the second line. Since we had already pre-registered with Dr. Valdez, we searched for our name in the list. It turned out that our names were intentionally printed in the doctors list. And when the medical representatives saw that our name was listed there, they were like treating us like doctors. And to add to that, they wrote “Doc Heidi” on my name tag… OK. haha
I took it to heart to listen very well since I do have a strong family history of diabetes and also so that I may be able to educate daddy Edward. The lectures were very informative and not boring since each lecture was only about 30 minutes short with lots of foods and freebies within breaks. The booth exhibit was really enjoyable. There was also a part were we had round table discussions with doctors from all fields. It was like WOW.

To top off our 2 day seminar workshop, my certificate also had MD printed on it. LOL. It actually felt great to be an MD for a weekend. 8 months more when I can finally earn it. But for now, back to being a clerk.
